Hi All...Long time lurker...Well...In april, I bought a 01 insight in Arizona...Flew from Wis. to get it because it had 69,000 miles and a new battery...As soon as I bought it, I pumped up tires to 50psi. We loaded 3 suitcases and a cooler and 2 of us in it and headed to vegas....Then thru Utah, then across I70 thru denver...(Damn them hills are steep)..LOL...And on thru Neb. with 40 mph crosswinds for 700 Miles!!!..Finally home to Wis. 2400 miles and we averaged 62 mpg!!!...We were driving at 75-80 mph almost the whole way..What a great little car....At Home, I reset the lifetime mileage...I know, some guys hate that....The previous driver only ave.54mpg...I wanted my own lifetime....For first 10,000 miles, I ave 73 mpg...Yea Me...lol...Then Battery started to go crazy...recal once a week then 2-3 times, then every day....then last week every hour. Then The IMA.....FINALLY.... came on and I was Happy. I knew it was coming, just had to wait for it....Sure killed my mileage with the dang thing charging all the time.. Along with a freekin cold winter.....Although with a warm air mod and almost all of radiator covered, i can still ave in 60's. not too bad for below zero.....Any way.....Went to honda dealer Monday, they checked it and ordered new Battery...Came in next day..(tues)...Took it in today at 1pm, and at 3pm it was done. Signed my name once and They sent me on my way A VERY happy insight owner...) 0 dollars....Thank you Honda!!!!!!!........Thanks to all on this board also....There is so much knowledge on here.....
...Now I have to get my lifetime back up there.....Hmmmm....maybe I have to get a mima system....I'm waiting for someone to come up with the plug and play, charging system, and second battery system.......
