Anyone know the part number for the Insight Oil Filter? Is it shared by any other Honda engines?

I ask because I noticed online sites list about 3 different oil filters for the Insight.

Walmart!!! Go to walmart and pay 1 dollar for your oil filter.....

Its semi-synthetic so you have to change it every 5-6 thousand miles ... but that is my regualar oil interval anyway....

I know you are asking about a Honda filter, but a filter that can be used is:

SuperTech ST6607 Semi-synthetic media - Champion manufactured filter: $2.07 at Walmart

oil filter

Resist,

Oil filters have been discussed numerous times on this bb. I could do the search, and post the links for you, or even post the info for you, but I think it would be good if you would do the search yourself. It's easy, try it!

I did do a search and came up with every post for oil and then every post for filter. All I want is the OEM oil filter part number. I'm not interested in aftermarket filters. I'm trying to find them in bulk and need this number. I'm also trying to find out if Honda uses the same fitler on their other cars.

The Insight's filter hasn't been sold in other U.S. market Honda cars. It has been used in some U.S. market Honda motorcycles.

As I stated I did the search and came up with nothing. The good news is I found the filters for less than $4 each! I've got 10 of them on their way to me.

We are becoming predictable aren't we ummm, resist isn't it?

Post a question that puts members to task. (Google is your friend)

Scoff at helpful replies.

Then post a reply that one-up's their offers _without_ sharing the information.

I think I can predict what type of replies your posts are going to be getting if you choose to follow this pattern. :(

Hey, no skin off my back. But my hope for your self improvement springs eternal. :)

I asked the question honestly, with the hopes of getting a new source for oil filters. I got answers to places I've already been or didn't trust, I wanted a better deal. Ultimately I found a better deal on my own. On ebay, and if you can believe it from a dealership.

Did I have to post the luck I had in finding a better deal on my own....NO. But I did with the thought that it would push others into digging deeper for good deals. I meant no disrespect to others here and don't expect disrespect in return.

I learned a lot about my car on this forum from others and hopefully helped a few people in return. If you have a problem with me lets take to a PM.

And for you information I didn't scoff at replies. I asked for the OEM part number and I was not getting the answer to that.

Can somebody time how long it takes to spin these filters on and then how long to spin them off? I was taking one off last weekend and was worried that they were spinning too slowly....

 ROFL :!:

But sadly :( , somehow I doubt resist sees the humor.

Now seriously: :| resist. it appears I am not the only one that "reads" what I tried to communicate earlier into your posts. Yes, what I wrote has a somewhat sharp edge, but neither is this your first post of this type. If this is your style then you'll have to live with the consequences.

May I suggest that what would greatly help you is that when you find the answer your looking for (or ultimately a better one) you share it in a post, give something back to the group. But don't put the group to task for something that you can do for yourself. If you don't know how then ask a question that helps you learn _how_ not simply _what_ *then* spend the time learning how. "Give a man a fish and you've fed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you've fed him a lifetime" <- ancient Chinese proverb.

And _please_ understand I am _not_ singling you out. There are other's that have a similar style. However right now they are not posting as frequently, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. <g>

HTH! <sincerely> :)

I believe that is what I did.

We can all do anything ourselves. I thought by maybe asking someone here for the OEM filter number and if they had a better source for oil filters I'd find a better price. I didn't need people telling me to do a search, because I explained I had already done a search and didn't find anything worth going after.

Ever since HParts went under, it has been harder and harder to find a reliable inexpensive parts source for the Insight. Sorry so many felt personally disrespected by my search of a good deal.
