When I had my S2K build it took 4 weeks to be delivered after the 'birth' date.
One step closer
Saturday, I got a call from the dealership. After ordering a new Insight last mid March, I'm told that my Insight's official "build" date is May 15th. Then they ship it from Japan.
Red, 5-speed.
They are guessing only 2-3 more weeks, if the ship doesn't sink or get quarantined for SARS or some other unforeseeable circumstance should get in the way.
Wish me luck. It will be the 2nd Insight I've owned (the first lost to the Jaws of Life). I miss the old one and look forward to the new.
