I decided the '00 Insight I was going to buy this past week was too pricey. I was willing to pay a bit of a premium for the green one, but not 2,000 buckaroos.
I'm finding that the majority of eBay Insights are going UNSOLD because the sellers are putting a reserve that is too high. How can someone justify paying 12k for an '00 model, when you can get an '05 for $18k?

Thanks for listening to my rant/venting!

How can a used Prius sell for 2,000 dollars more than a new one?

Sorry that it didn't work out. An 05 for 18K sounds like a steal to me!

I think with eBay your getting a lot of people testing the water to see if they can get anyone to pay premium dollar for their car. Alternatively in my experience buying selling a few cars on eBay, I've never actually sold one through the eBay auction, it's always been people locally contacting me after and comming to look at the car then buying it. I've done 4 of 6 this way.

I guess its all in your prespective. Lately the Yahoo group seams to think the insight has dropped too far in value. I guess the best bet is to own the car as long as possible which would spread out either the gains or losses depending on your point of view. Have fun, Rick
