It's been nearly 2 years (eeep, how did that happen?), since the last meet in Southern Ontario. I say it's time to change that!

Date: June 12

Location: Brampton Entertainment Centre.

Details:
June 12 is a HADA (Honda & Accura Driver's Association) auto-x event. (Details aren't up on their site yet, I'll add the event link when they appear) You can come and try out the solo II thing, or you can just come to check it out, hang out, and talk about Insights.

This is a club event, rather than a highly-competitive one, so if you don't want to drive, you can get rides with participants!

We'll go to dinner afterwards. (Not interested in the auto-x thing? then just come for dinner and drinks!)

Speak up, folks - let's try to beat that 6 car record from 2003!

(Those in Ottawa/Montreal area... Guillermo and I are headed that way in August for a solo2 event, if you'd be inclined for a more local meet?)

HADA is a group of hardcore honda/acura racers not ricers.
Most ricers get spanked by an Insight and never come back
Most of these race civics look like old winter beaters, but some have Type R or even CRV engines in them so they are FAST

Cool. Sounds good then. Hopefully, my car will be 100% by then. If not, then I guess I'll be autocrossing London Honda's loaner Civic Hybrid.
I know it sucks (for many, many reasons) but at least they gave you a hybrid. Last time I got work done on the Insight, they gave me an Accord. 12L/100km.
For that kind of mileage, it'd better be WAY more fun to drive than a boat of an automatic Accord!

I don't think it will be an issue at this point. London Honda is fairly done with me, and I am done with them. Regarding the Civic, I was able to pull 50 MPG out of it with some effort. But the driving experience was absolutely tepid. Interior layout is obviously not driver oriented, and there's just no sex in it's design either. Oh yeah, and it's a Civic...

To anyone attending this meet, I have a slight favour to ask. I would like to probe your car with my OBD-II tool while it is being driven in lean burn. I'm very curious as to what the LAF and secondary O2 sensors read in a healthy car. Anyone up for it? I'll even reset any CEL lights if you have them. :D

Aaron,
You may also scan my car, it's a 2000 Insight with 108,000 km.
You can also record OBDII info with the scan tool during the auto-x if you want.

10 more days until the Southern Ontario Insight meet on June 12th, near Toronto. It will take place at an auto-x where Opal and I will be competing. Hopefully others will get there early and drive as well.
Or else Opal and I will give you rides during competition. Just bring a Motorcycle helmet if you have one, but they do have loaner helmets anyways.
Here at the details:

I'll be there.

Just worried about the weather. The forecase is 30% thundershowers for Saturday and Sunday. Should hold out, but lately the weather has ruined EVERYTHING I have tried to do, so likely just by virtue of me being there it will pour. :(
