I would like to buy a convex mirror for the left side mirror. I have done this before when I had a car which was new enough to still buy parts easily. Are the left mirrors on RHD cars convex? If so do they have the writing on them (Things are closer …)? If the English mirrors have writing, do the Japanese left side mirrors have writing on them? It would be neat to have “Things are closer …” in Japanese. Finally what is the part number for a left side mirror for a RHD car?

Hmmm...I have owned both English and Japanese Insights and as far as I know both sets of wing mirrors are not convex, just plain flat surfaces. Certainly don't have the "Things are closer.." writing. Grateful if someone else in the UK / Japan could chip in and agree / disagree about the convex thing.

JustFrank was wanting the LEFT side morror with this feature. AFAIK and from what our right hand steering wheel Insighters have also reported its not available.
