Yeah, I fear that at 50 lbs. a blowout might make you roll over like an Explorer! At some point you might as well ride around on the rims.

With more pressure, I believe the center of the tire wears first.

I use a gauge I bought from Motorsport Auto. It has a round dial and a bleed--off valve so you can over-inflate a little and then bleed off some with the gauge for a perfect result.

I've seen them elsewhere--at Brookstone, but also at some parts stores, I think. It is analog, not digital.

The 50psi thing has been talked about many times before in other forums. I personally use 50psi. You will find the tires wear more evenly with 50psi. Yeah, I didn't believe at first either, but it's true.

And I hope you were just kidding about a blowout making the Insight roll over like an Explorer. As the Insight is just to low for that.

Tire Pressure

Hey peeps,
You guys do know that Bridgestone and Nokian - (My choice for winter tire) recommend these tires not be inflated over 44 psi, right?
Personally I use 40 psi all around and like the results I am getting.
See ya!
