Hi,

Just picked up my 2013 Insight and so far the car is very cool. It is the base model with the very very light grey interior. I would like to try and protect the fabric and maybe even the carpet before it gets real use. I have all weather floor mats from Honda on order, but would like to look into sealing/protecting the fabric.

Anyone have good results with a particular product. I haven't done this in years, but I remember spraying scotch guard on fabrics and it seemed OK. Any good results from forum members would be a great help.

Thanks!

Well, you know what I did most of the times, either new car or having a used one cleaned, I bought the adhesive plastic the dealers/car manufacturers used to put on the carpet (picked them up at Menard's for little money).

I put them on and once you have the floor mats on top of them, you can hardly tell that they are there. I also use newspaper below the floor mats in the winter time to catch moisture/snow.

The back area (cargo area) I protected with this adhesive clear foil which does not leave any marks when remove. It protects from those easy scratches you get on the plastic pieces.

Sometimes not easy to put on, but worth it when you remove it and the interior looks like new. I use the clear plastic foil on the rear doors as well.

Greetings!
