I am getting them replaced on my 2010 I2. I am looking for a way to extend the life of the new ones, perhaps with an adhesive clear material as an extra layer of protection.

Anyone do this and/or know what best to apply to the lenses? Perhaps 3M makes something?

Haven't searched, but I do know that there is a product available. It was installed on my RV headlights when the rig negotiated the AlCAN highway a decade ago. Did the job in protecting the headlight lenses.

It was self adhesive so easy to apply. A brown discoloration will begin to creep in around the edges after a few years.

They sell something called lens tape. Its a heavy sticking plastic sold in red, amber or clear. I used clear once to try to protect my fogs. The glass was shattered behind the plastic.
