So I was trying to clean my EGR valve and plate to fix the hurky jerky and found this in the bumper must've fallen in there or smth

I have no clue what it is and if it's needed in the car

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Just zip tie it back to the bumper somewhere and you'll be good to go.

Temperature sensor for aircon.

Goes in front of radiator about half way down.
Thanks so much helped me clear things up on why this car has a low mpg. Around 40. Gonna change the spark plugs my engine is BBB but rn someone put generic ones in. Now with this sensor hopefully mpg goes up

You have to develop your driving style to the Insight desires to get the best MPG. IMHO

Folks seem to have missed that the wires are broken. To repair this, the front bumper will need to be removed and the two wires will need to be reconnected.

As is, the car will not Auto Stop unless the HVAC control is set to "Off."

Couldn't find the original thread where I posted these, but here's a couple pics of the routing of the outside temp sensor wires. They come from 'over on the right', at the corner of the radiator, in the first pic:
