Hi all. Recently bought a Honda Civic with a bad battery (IMA light, not charging). I removed the battery from the car as I will be deep discharge/charge cycling it.

To get a resting voltage I touched the multi-meter probes to the main +/- terminals on the battery (Switch in ON position), but I got no voltage?! I touched the negative probe at points further towards the -ve output from the pack itself and got a voltage reading of 141V just before what seems to be the battery relay. Can anyone confirm if this is normal?

Yes that is normal the relay can't energise out of the car to pass the voltage/power through.

Just connect your charger/discharger across where you have a voltage reading. Forget the relay.
