If their damaged they will code.

AFAIK in most states the liability for "hidden" damage can be claimed for up to one year after such an accident. But a future code of batteries deteoriated would probably not qualify unless upon inspection there was physical damage.

And it shouldn't be too hard to see any physical damage right now. The IMA lid will have to be removed for inspection.

Had a similar type "accident" several years back (rear ended, not my fault). Damage required the floor pan up to the IMA case area to be replaced. And the IMA case items removed to do such. IIRC $3,000+ in damage.
