Hey everyone ...I was wondering. Can the rear fairing be removed and replaced with some type of after market "snap on" wheel wheel so it can look like the wheel wells on the front of the car?

Any links if possible...thanks

Their called wheel skirts and AFAI remember a couple of members have tried a custom cutout mod. Shouldn't be too difficult and with great care could look good too :!: :D

There is no after market snap on available at this time that I know of
and perhaps there never will be because of low production numbers.
However, I have made a cardboard template with a cutout of the front
design (only slightly smaller in size) so it can be done but I would not
just cut an opening...If I do it, I will try to heat the plastic and bend it
into the front shape and use some of the excess (middle area) to include
a partial inner fender area (like the front)...It will be difficult to try and
I've been looking around for a spare set of covers (splats) as a backup
if it doesn't work out...Don't want to be caught on the road driving
without them  (not illegal - just looks wierd)

Hmm okay thanks...I mean I'm sure a body shop could do it too...Just a matter of money. I mean I love the car but I hate the skirt!

Why would you want to do it? The car was designed for the best possible coefficient of friction, ie MPG, and the skirts were a big part of that.

I think the skirts make the car look distinctive, if it already doesn't.

Just like you thinking the skirts make the Insight look distinctive he (or she) feels that cutting the skirts would make his (or her) Insight even more different than the rest. People like to customize their rides, always have, always will. Regardless of praticality.
