Replace 12v Battery

Well yesterday I left my door ajar and killed my 12v battery. After several jumps and a 25 mile drive, I realized it wasn't going to hold a charge anymore. It's over 3 years old so it's probably time to replace it anyway.

I'm going to run by the dealership today and grab a new battery. Seems like I remember reading that you have to reset the IMA if you disconnect the battery. Am I crazy or am I remembering this correctly? I've looked everywhere but I can't seem to find where I first read it. If this is the case will someone please point me in the right direction to reset it.

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I tried searching but it's amazing how many results you get for searches on battery in a hybrid forum... :D

Thanks in advance for any info.

Your car just recalibrates the charge meter on your dash when you disconnect the 12V batt. There is no button to press to do it; it's automatic. I wouldn't worry about it much.

To bad your battery can't hold out a little longer. I'd suggest buying one of the Hawker Odyssey 680 drycell batteries, but sounds like you don't have the luxury to wait for one.

Good luck. :)
