Has anyone ever replaced their front brake rotors on on 1st Gen Insight due to warping and also how do you remove the rotors?
Does the spindle nut need to be removed?

Removing the front brake disc or rotor

From the manual:

"Remove the brake disc retaining flat screws (A)."

From me -- with some study but no experience:
The flat screws are Phillips head screws. If you cannot screw them out then you can chisel out the heads of the screws. This means that you cannot use them to hold on the brake disc after removal. The wheel and stud bolts will have to suffice to hold the brake disc in place.

Back to the manual:

"Screw two 8x1.25 mm bolts (B) into the disc to push it away from the hub. Turn each bolt two turns at a time to prevent cocking the disc excessively."

Manuals are available and on sale for vehicles 2007 and older at Helminc.com
