I am looking for a used Insight as well. I found a dealership in La Crosse, WI. that I'm thinking about checking out.

http://www.hondamotorwerks.com

It's almost 500 miles away but I think it'd be worth it to have such a unique car. My only problem is I want to test drive one. Or at least sit in one and see how bad it is to get in and out of. I'm having a hard time finding any "list" of local owners. It's also hard to pick a car out without seeing it up front. Maybe I'll just get my financials in order and make a roadtrip.

Has anyone had any dealings with this dealership? They seem to be asking 3-5k over blue book.

pbwookiee,
I have heard positive things about this dealership although I've never visted it myself. I remember seeing that they actively do "education" about hybrids to the community and they have organized "road trips" as well.

When I was looking for my Insight, the main reason I didin't go there is because I, like you, thought the prices seemed a little steep.

There's always room for negotiation, though.

I say, sharpen up your negotiating skills and spend a fun couple of days in LaCrosse. If you want tips on things to do while in town, I'm certain I could dig up a few things for you. My brother in Law went to school there and raves about how much he enjoys the city. (PM me for details.)

Hi,

I almost bought from Honda Motorwerks, but they really are taking advantage of the high demand. They wanted 16K for a 2001 with 80,000 miles, a little too high in my opinion. I kept searching and ended buying one that was over 2,000 miles away. I bought a blue 2002 5 spd with only 25,000 miles. It was well worth it though, the car was $13,985 (that was about $500 under bluebook) plus shipping......... The car is awesome, it was well worth it.............

If you have to have one now, you can go to honda motorwerks.........But if money is a deciding factor, I would keep searching.

Check out Cars.com (they seem to be the most up to date)

Matt
