Yeah I'm gonna give that a shot. They might decline because this car has been in a fender bender, but the seat belt worked for a year or more after that happened. Plus the car has over 250k miles on it! lol.
I had a passenger seat belt lock while wrapped around the back of the seat, to let the belt dry out. (I haven't fixed the wet seat belt issue yet - not often an issue here in Colorado!) I could not get enough slack to unlock the mechanism, so I ended up unbolting the seat end of the belt. There is a plastic cover over the bolt, then just back the bolt out. Might work, worth a try!
