My 210 cm cross-country skis fit inside, between passenger seat and the door. Myght be a bit awkward if I took another human along, but my usual passenger curls up quite happily on her blanket in the hatch 
Just for future reference, the Insight does ok in light snow, but not when it's deeper than the floor pan.
