I travel a lot for work and have noticed 2 Insights on the road lately here in VA. A white one last Friday heading west on 64 around the 81 connection (I was just getting off 81N onto 64 E around 5pm). Second, a silver, was today on 95 S about 11:30am heading towards Richmond (I turned off on 295 S). It's so rare to see Insights, I just had to ask- are the drivers on the forum here? Would be nice to know some local owners!

5 in a day in CA

I saw 5 Insights in one day in the Sacramento/Davis area (CA). For every insight I see 3 Prius's. I find it really hard to spot Civic Hybrids; this ay be a Honda marketing mistake.

civic hybrids have the antenna on top of the car. that's how i've been able to tell as of late.

Civic hybrids also have a solid section running through the front grille (normal Civics have three open slots basically), and a lip spoiler on the rear decklid. Also, special wheels are on the Civic hybrid that are not available on regular Civics. Just a few other cues to help distinguish the Insight's big brother as compared to more proletariate versions of the car.

The civic hybrid also has the antenna sticking right out of the middle of the roof in the middle. Normal american made civics don't. Although the wheels and the front faschia are the biggest give away, plus there is also the gasoline electric hybrid tag on the back passenger side under the tail light.

It's definitely subtle compared to spotting an Insight or even a Prius, but I can pick 'em out. To me the air dam and front grille are the clearest indicators.

I think I subconciously look for other hybrids. I mean how obcessed am I when I was able to pick out a titanium civic hybrid going the other way on the freeway about 8 lanes over from my peripheral vision a few weeks ago. I also seem to be able to pick out prius's as well.
