I have a 2001 Insight. I've put 70K miles on it. Then the other day I thought I would check the spare tire. And it seems "there ain't one." Is that really the case? Is that tire hiding somewhere? It isn't in the "trunk" (the little hiding space in the rear).

I don't see any place to put a spare tire. How do you guys handle this? I could get one of those cannister inflator/sealer things in case i get a puncture. But these are special order tires. Seems like you have to carry around a spare tire in the back, under the netting.

Any thoughts?

First, take a look at this so you will get a visual reference to what I refer to later on.

After you flip open the lid to the little trunk, take out number 3 in the diagram (just pull upwards), then remove number 2 and you should now see the spare tire and the tool kit.
