Yep, they do wipe your data (I've already done the recall), so you'll have to setup the vehicle and phone settings again.

Me: You gonna wipe out my s**t when you do the update?
Service Tech: No mang. We cool.

[45 minutes later]

Me: Yo, where's my s**t at?
Service Tech: Yeah, um, we wiped out your s**t.
Me: You said you weren't going to wipe out my s**t!
Service Tech: Yeah, um, we wiped out your s**t.
Me: Where's the Service Manager

[5 minutes later]

Service Manager: What's up?
Me: Your service tech wiped out my s**t, and he said he wouldn't wipe out my s**t.
Service Manager: Yeah. The update will wipe out your s**t.
Me: That's not what the service tech said. What do we do now?
Service Manager: You need to reprogram your s**t.
Me: Thanks for the extra work. Can I at least get a free oil change for the trouble?
Service Manager: No, but you can reprogram your s**t.

This had better not happen again. I made the mistake of being the first one to get the recall fix at this particular dealer. Never again.

FYI, If you use SiriusXM, Not only do you have to re save your channels again but it took a couple days for all the Channel Icons to fully restore. I had generic S/XM icons instead of the color picture images for the channels. I guess they reload over time.

I had to reprogram everything. I never noticed that! I guess I was just too pissed about needing to reset everything to notice the plain icons. They are correct now.

When a dealer treats ya real well, I even more like to know their name.
