I'm 6'4." While on my way to test an Element, I sat in an Insight (just to see how it felt) and couldn't believe the leg room. A lot! Even the dealer was shaking his head. I drove it and really liked it. Any other drivers my height or taller who drive this? I have made too many mistakes buying uncomfortable cars. The Prius and the Civic are both too short on space for me. The Ford Escape Hybrid (out in May) will be starting at 27K (too far out of my budget.) Input would be appreciated. (By the way, the Insight has more leg room than the Element too.) Thanks.

I am not quite as tall as you - I am 6' 2", but I agree that the Insight has a surprising amount of leg & head room. I can actually get the seat into a position where I am too far away from the steering wheel.

My experience in the Insight is that it is a very comfortable car. Although the seats, suspension & tyres are firm, this is compensated for with well designed / ergonomic seats. I usually get backache in other cars I drive, but I don't in the Insight. Putting physical comfort aside, you shoudn't forget the all over happy feeling that you also get driving the Insight! Hope this helps.

I'm only 6' tall but I have to put the seat at the midpoint of its full travel range. My head does occasionally get close to the liner of the roof if I tilt it over to the side, like on a turn, but there's no issue w.r.t. leg room in the slightest.

Honda could probably do an Insight ad with Yao and mini-me...

Strange. I'm like 5'11" and I usually keep my seat all the way back, maybe 1 or 2 clicks from the way back, but I'm pretty sure I slide it all the way back. Even in my now traded-in Dodge Durango and my brothers Mitsu Eclipse I always slide it all the way back. I'm not to far away from the pedal, it's just my "setting"

I can only imagine if I locked the seat at half way what it'd be like. My knees would be scrounched up and touching the steering wheel and the pedals would be way to close.

I don't have abnormally long legs. I figured anybody taller than I would slide it in the same position, all the way back and if they were that much taller than me it'd be uncomfortable for them. 6' 4" wow.

Height

I'm 6'5" and have no problems. I even raised the seat .75". I take 8 to 10 hour trips on a normal basis. Plenty of headroom where you need it, in the center section, although it does drop down near the door. Have fun, Rick

Hello everyone.

I'm also 6'4" and I just purchased a 2000 5sp in December of 2002. I love it and I have no problems fitting in it (all 220 pounds of me) :p. The leg room amazed me because I have also had problems with leg room in the past. Although I was also impressed with the leg room in the Civic hybrid, the Civic however doesn't come close to the mpg of the Insight.
I'd highly recommend this car to anyone of our size, in fact another owner I know is 6'7" and he has no complaints either.
