Of course Honda will offer the Insight for 2007. Gas prices are at an all-time high and the demand-side pressures that got them there (e.g. China) are here to stay. A fuel cell honda is 3 years away.

So let's be optimistic. :D They will continue to produce the Insight, the important question is really what colors it should come in?

What NEW color would you most like to see in the 2007 Insight lineup?

I'll start it off:

Bring back citrus, and add the bright "FIT" vivid blue.

OK, so there won't be any more Insights produced beyond this year. I'm just still in denial.

how about this:

the same colors as the REST of Honda's lineup!
It's just stupid to me that the Insight comes with so few options and in so few colors.

Red, maroon, black, white, forest green, bright green, silver, champagne, take your pick. Does anyone know why is only comes in 3 colors anyway?

I wanted a white insight so badly! the blue is nice, but not as super. (this coming from an white civic ex-driver.)
there's supposed to be a pearlescent one that a couple guys have seen... of course there is some debate as to whether it was an insight or a ford focus w/ wheel covers. how there could be any debate about that i'm not sure....

either way i have my eyes open and my camera ready.

It was based on Japanese national flag, Rising Sun, when Honda won the F-1 race in 1968.
There used to be national colors such as...
British Green
Italian Red
French Blue
...
German White for Porsche? or German Silver for Mercedes?
American what?

ext1jdh - the odd colours of the Insight compared to the rest of Honda's lineup are mostly due to the fact that they're half aluminum. Ordinary paint doesn't stick to aluminum so the S2000, NSX and Insight all have their own special paint. It also helps that the S2000, NSX and Insight are all built in the same plant. ;)

And just for the record, I'd love a black one, and I don't know why black wasn't offered in Canada, since it was available in Japan & the U.K.

Hi Ken,
American 'traditional" racing colors are white with blue stripe(s). As seen on the Briggs Cunningham Corvettes, and some early Shelby AC Cobras.

But since the day the first Lotus showed up in the F1 paddock wearing Gold Leaf Tobacco livery, traditional colors (or should that be "colours?") have been rare in F1. Ferrari's are still red, though now it's Marlboro red, and the Renaults have some "French racing blue" along with the yellow.

And the Ford GT that Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon drove to victory at Le Mans was painted in the New Zealand colors of black with silver stripes since the drivers were both Kiwis. But that was long ago . . .

Now that Jenson Button has driven the current Honda F1 car to victory, I was hoping Honda would issue a cool bumper sticker to commemorate the win; then I would display that on my Insight! Hasn't happened (yet) to my knowledge, however.

My favorite color would be no-color. That's right, brushed Aluminum. Maybe a clear coat. If they can only get a good paint match for all the plastic body parts (which is about 1/3 of the exterior).

Although, Comparisons to the Deloren would not be welcome, IMHO.

Because I believe every car should have at least one colour offered with 'neck-wrench appeal', my vote would have to go to a shade I saw on a US-made car. I was called 'Blast Orange', and it was brilliantly metallic. Also, a dark metallic violet/blueish purple would look quite nice on the Insight. It would be very Batman's-newest-supervillain-ish!

Just another $.02...

I've seen a pearl orange that I think would look pretty interesting on an Insight. That or a candy apple red.

Of course, the practical side of me says white,. Though I like white, that's the color of my other 2 vehicles, that would look rather boring on an Insight I'd think.
