2012 Insight, I noticed the USB doesn't show in the radio and it doesn't work.. I've disconnected the battery and that didn't help. Any suggestions?

Welcome!

Insert an USB stick with some playable audio format files (.WAV, .MP3, Apple format)? ;)

Seriously, there are two probable causes:
- Unrecognizable USB format
- unrecognisable audio format.

Make sure your USB stick is formatted properly. Very large USB sticks can cause trouble, and sticks with a very large file library take ages to load. I used my 32GB stick to store some backup data with > 100.000 files in it along with my music files. It scanned those maps too so it took minutes to let it play music.
If it says USB LOAD when you key on the USB stick is properly formatted. If not, reformat your USB stick or try with another stick.

It cannot play all audio format but if it recognises an audio format file which it cannot play it will display a message before skipping to the next file.

As I scroll through the Mode button on the radio, the "USB" option doesn't appear anymore. It used to, also when I attach my device (phone, iPad) there is no response, not even a charge. Makes me wonder if there is a seperate fuse for the USB.

Hello all, just purchased a 2010 HI ES-T and I'm trying to connect my personal music to it via USB, but it just comes up saying USB not recognised.

I've tried using my external hard disk, and my phone. Any suggestions? Do they support NTFS...

Also, the sat nav maps are very poor in detail. Can I get any more detailed maps?

Thank you.

Welcome!
You might need to reformat the USB drive.
I use a USB stick, cheap and I can leave it in the car. Did not work until I reformatted it (see http://www.insightcentral.net/forums/modifications-technical-discussions/14773-cant-get-usb-work.html)

What phone do you use? There was a topic about USB connection problems using iPhones: http://www.insightcentral.net/forums/honda-insight-forum-2nd-gen-discussion/106474-iphone-connecting-usb-play-music.html

Hope this helps.

I have a Windows Phone. I had a feeling that it won't work on NTFS drives when my HDD and my phone didn't work. Looks like Honda didn't want to pay a licensing fee to MS for NTFS.

Does exFAT work? Or are you able to play over Bluetooth?

I'm surprised that some of the older cars that have BT in them don't allow music to be played through it.

Thank you

AFAIK it does not support music over BlueTooth.
My headphones do, but not my car... but it does take and receive calls.

I have an old iPod Nano and it works like a charm; playlists etc. are supported. But my 32GB flash drive holds more music so I use that now.
As I wrote I needed to reformat that first with the program in the topic I referred to.
