Yes it does drive like a normal car. If you didn't have the extra low end torque or the Chrg/Asst gauge on the dash you'd possibly never notice any difference. I've let a few other people drive my car and they all have commented how "conventional" an experience it was.

The interior portions are very good for such a small car. Deffinitely sit in one before buying, but I don't think you'll find it to be too big of a deal. I recently obtained a project car, which is a 92 Saturn SC2 (more to come on this project soon, you guys will like it) and I'm noticing that sadly the Insight has much more room than the Saturn.

For your last question, I was 18 when I got mine. 21 Now.
