My CV axle snapped the other day leaving school. I had purchased it from eBay in Ohio were it was always snowing. It's down here in New Orleans now. I have a wrecked insight I was going to pull it from but that one is a m5. Cheapest new I could find is $467 online. I'm also keeping an eye on eBay for it. Using this site to check part #'s it looks like you are correct. driver side cv axles are the same for standard and automatic but passenger side is different.

drivers side different, passenger side the same.
