My wife and I live in Canada, and just purchased a brand new '06 CVT Insight from Ohio, because the CVT was never an option in Canada.

We've spoken to all our area dealerships and Honda Canada, who state we do not have warranty on the car. The dealership where we bought it, however, states that since the car is brand new, we DO have warranty and we must persue the issure further. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on this?

Thanks,
M.

Go here for the official info (the steelership is not in a good position to know what is going on, they are separate companies with often different goals).

I doubt the CVT will be eligible for the gray import program. Any of the CVT specific parts will not be available at the Canadian parts distribution center. If you live close to the border look for a dealership on the ‘other side’ to work with.

Thanks, that pretty much answers my question. We figured that. If dealers in Michigan say no, we'll just have to drive 6 hours to the Ohio dealership who sold it to us. They've agreed to cover our warranty claims.
