I had been told that the expensive battery on the insight was good/guaranteed for 10 years or 300,000 miles.
My car has 122,000 miles on it...is it still under warranty?

8 years or 100,000 miles for a 2010 Insight, so you are out of warranty on both counts.

You could always go for the greentec, bumblebee or Dorman batteries...under $2k with returned core...fairly easy to install

I've got the same question however I purchased my G2 secondhand, currently 80k miles, original owner purchased in California in 2013. Seems a bit gray area to me. Should I stop by my local dealership and see what they say?

Everyone should try the fairly simple and cheap battery cycling process before buying a new pack.
