i just placed my order for an insight (YAY =) ) but unfortunatly no one has been totally clear on what the warrenties cover. i have heard some bad stories and other good. i have an extended one put on to the car but would like to get some idea of what to expect. when i talked to Toyota (i was looking at the prius- more for the space it has in it compared to the insight- but it kinda comes across to me as an 'older' peoples car ) they informed me that there would be no difficulties at all and being their first hybrid, they dont want a bad name on it. can i expect the same thing from honda :?: im asking because almost every dealer ive been too has never even seen, or let alone had someone ask for this car (lol i even drove dorwn to farmington, NY to test drive the vehical - im north of toronto,ON)

You've got 3/36 bumper to bumper and 8/80 IMA. The warranties are much longer if your in California or another clean air state.

I wouldn't buy the extended warranty from the dealership either necessarily. There are places on the web that sell them for much less, and the cost of the Honda warranty does not go up until you've got 24K miles or 2 years (I think, that's how it was but Honda Care changed some I think).

From your location I'd recommend CAUTION. Importing from the US to Canada has been reported to be difficult and _without_ a transferable warranty :!:

I wouldn't necessarily take the previous posters "word" for it. But I'd get all the answers to the question(s) his posts raised _before_ purchase :!:
