Help.. My 2005 Insight has developed a water leak on the driver's side.. The seat belt beomes saturated during a rain storm, but no water is evident in the car nor under the trim work hiding the seat belt retraction system. The dealer can not find the problem. Any ideas?

Thanks
Gary

Thanks for the info

After posting on the wrong forum, I found many others have the same problem. I love this little car but I can not believe how inept the dealers are at service . As stated, I own 3 Avantis (Studebaker derived) and accept the water leaks as part of their design. Sure did did expect this from a Honda. Thankks for the insight (no pun intended) I have printed aall of the info and intend on tearing things apart this week-end.

avanti and insight water leak

There was a traveling show of Raymond Loewy's designs that I think was exhibited at the Museum Of Modern Art. There has been a Long term display of the Avanti at the Smithsonian. The Avantis were my daily driver until I purchased the Insight. What a savings on fuel..from 20MGG to well over 60 with the CVT. Just did not expect a water leak. But the fix seems easy enough. My Avantis and the Insight make a very exciting picture, as both are very low production cars and very unique. I talked to the dealer and they claim never having any experience with wet seat belts. Still under warranty, so I have copied many of the posts from this site and I will educate the service advisor when the car goes in for the 30K service next week.
