I freakin' love my car.

I'd like to get a sunroof for it, but the only one I've seen mentioned in this forum is the webasto 300. Does anyone have any experience with other sunroofs?

Also, I'm getting a custom gear shifter knob from http://www.koolknobs.com. Once I figure out what the dimensions are for the bolt coming out of the stick, I'm placing an order for a flared top swirly silver smiley face!

Wheeeee!

I'd be very careful about putting a sunroof in an Insight. My 1988 CRX had a sunroof put in by the dealer. It was OK, but once a theft decided to pry open the sunroof, water was always leaking through it. Also consider the body is aluminum, not steel.

Sweet. Can you post the size? I want to send him some of my touch up paint and get it to match my car :!:

I have a 2002 Insight and an 89 CRX SI with sunroof. I just finished fixing a water leakage problem created by the drain tube from the sunroof plugging up with debris after 14 years. Factory installed sunroofs are well engineered to deal with rain. A poorly engineered aftermarket product may develop into a rain roof.

I miss having a sunroof on the Insight, but the Climate control and micron air filter more than compensate.

Thanks for the advice. I know a few people HAVE installed sunroofs -- do any of you all have anything to add?

If you go to http://www.koolknobs.com/photos, you can see the different shapes they have. The round ones, slight taper, and flared top are 2" in diameter at the top if you want to have something embedded in them.

Wasn't that price a hoot? The dealer said that he was tired of having it on his lot. It sat for two months as a trade-in and no one would even look at it. Must really be Ford and Chevy country up there....
