I CHANGED MY SPARK PLUGS .

THE NEW INSIGHT HAS NOT BEEN GETTING THE 60mpg AVERAGE THAT THE OLD ONE DID .
SO AFTER A SET OF NEW TIRES , I AM LOOKING AT OTHER THINGS .

THE PLUGS IN THE CAR WERE QUITE OLD , THE FIRST ONE WAS STUCK AND TOOK SOME DOING TO REMOVE .
THE SECOND ONE WAS LOOSE AND COMBUSTION GASSES WERE GETTING BY IT .
THIRD ONE WAS OK BUT NONE OF THEM LOOKED GOOD .

FRESH TANK OF GAS TOMORROW AND I WILL RESET THE GASMILEAGOMETER TO SEE IF IT HELPS .
Did you use the factory stamped indexed plugs?

I just got a second Insight for pennies, and noticed the plugs in it are not indexed, they're just normal NGKs, but fairly new. I'm not sure if I should bother replacing them.

Contrary to my usual advice to "only use properly indexed Honda plugs", in this case I probably wouldn't. You wouldn't see the benefit in a "pennies" beater. When you sort this car and it becomes a hypermiling commuter or something you can always change the plugs.
