What does the little D and S on the steering wheel do/mean?

What does the little D and S on the steering wheel do/mean? Is that Cruise Control?

D = Drive (normal driving)

S = Sport, for "sportier" driving. Picks up and takes off quicker. Poorer gas mileage. (duh)
