My last Insight has 165/65/14 Michelin Energy Savers, my new one has RE92s

I can't tell the difference other than I think the Michelins might be a little louder, but that seems to be a Michelin thing

I received car with Nokian Hakkapeliittas a year ago. noisy. 48-50mpg. switched to re92 for summer, 56 mpg - but may have been due to summer too.

I'm about to mount up Gislaved Nordfrost 3 (studded!) in 175/65-14

I received car with Nokian Hakkapeliittas a year ago. noisy. 48-50mpg. switched to re92 for summer, 56 mpg - but may have been due to summer too.

I read on 2017 honda odyssey release date , it saya that car with Nokian Hakkapeliittas a year ago. noisy. 48-50mpg. switched to re92 for summer, 56 mpg - but may have been due to summer too.

does it sound good?

No different than any other studded snow. Seems the insight may have less sound deadener that my other transportation appliances. They came off today, early 2000 vintage re92 went on (came with car), hard as rocks but much quieter. BTW, those studded snows were great the one or two times needed this winter.

Toyo Eclipse to Potenza RE92

These Toyo Eclipse tires came with my most recent purchase. I don't know how the previous owner was able to get over 67mpgs on his tanks. I've been averaging in the high 40's (usually 48-49mpg). I had an extra set of Insight wheels with fairly new RE92 tires. Since swapping it out, I've been able to sustain 60+ easier, as well as regen efficiently and keep lean burn on for longer periods.

I now have a set of very good condition Insight wheels with fairly new Toyo Eclipse as a spare set.

Tires, mods, grid charger

I'm running Nokian WR G2 tires all around, all year on my 2000 MT with 166,000 miles. They are winter radials, no studs. I don't have a baseline on mpg or noise but best tank was 65 mpg on a 255 mile run thru some mountains from Anchorage, Alaska to Seward RT. That's after fixing some missing fairings in the front and underneath, lower grill block, partial radiator block, and warm air intake (from exhaust and radiator), and adjusting the valves. I picked it up last year for $2800... it was advertised as only 45 mpg. It sat all winter - and ran like s*** when I finally got it running last week. The IMA light came on and didn't want to charge. Just finished cycling the battery 3X with hybrid revolts set up. Time to burn some gas !!
