Heard it over and over again. It's BS :!: Do a search. It's been discussed here several times. Don't believe everything you read.

Including people dismissing something as "BS" just because they happen to disagree.

But Bill is right that it's been discussed at length here and on other boards. The summary (from memory) is a clear maybe:

There is no evidence that EMFs are bad for you, but there's also no evidence that they're not bad for you. However, there is evidence that low-frequency magnetic field strength in Insights is higher than in other cars.

I measured a non-hybrid Civic and my Insight. The peak field in the Insight is over the AC cable running from the IPU in the back to the IMA motor. Since the cable runs underneath the floor of the car on the left-hand side, the strongest field is on top of the drivers floormat. In that location - and during full assist or charge - it's about 100 times stronger than in the Civic. On the passenger seat, the field is low enough to be comparable to the Civic.

<Sigh> Here we go again. :|

Its basically unanswerable. However, with all known ill health effects of EMF _frequency_ (Hz) is a primary factor. E.g microwave vs. moving through the earth's magnetic field.

Search the forums for the rest of this never ending "debate" if your interested in the technical differences.

Here's the last one:
