Where can I purchase one of those PDA type scanners that I plug into my car and read the error codes and other information. I've never actually seen nor do i know how to use them but I would like to learn and see if I can diagnose my car's problems.

If anyone has any info or where to get them please help me out.

Thanks.

Its an OBD-II Scanner and I think the best place to find them cheap is ebay. It will only read standard codes and since the IMA is hardly a standard for cars it reads no info on the IMA. Have fun, RIck

while I'll look out there and purchase the ODB II Scanner, is there anything with higher technology out there? Also do they come with code translators or will I have to lookup the references?

is there anything else. some of you talk about reading other signals like vacuum pressures or current strength over the ima etc.... while driving. what would give me the ability to read those signals?

Thanks for your help, it is appreciated greatly.

There are many to choose from at various costs.

I use:

Auto X-ray has been mentioned several times too. Use the forum search feature but I think the correct spelling has a gimmick.

NO after market scanner will have access to Honda specific data, only generic OBDII data.

Reading the IMA current is best done with a good DVOM using an inductive amp clamp. Its an advanced shade tree task that anyone can choose to learn.

HTH! :)
