Please people, tell me I'm not going mad. I'm sure my Insight used to wipe the windscreen automatically when I pulled the washer stalk to spray the screen, however, it doesen't any more.

I'm sure I'm not imagining this, or maybe I am.

Hi Mark

I am certain that I have always had to manually switch on the wipers after spraying. HTH.

I recall someone posting this on the Yahoo group a while back (was it Wayland?) Saying their 2000 Insight didn't do this properly. And when he showed the dealership service people it said it did it in the manual they ordered some wiper control circuitry and fixed this issue.

That said, on mine one the extremely rare occasion I use the wiper fluid (I'm on my factory fill at 33K miles) yes it does spray and wipe with the same pull.

I don't think they changed from manual to automatic over some model year, I think they just goofed on some of the earlier ones. You guys with 00-01 cars look in the manual and see if it says it has this feature. I know this was brought up somewhere before.

Thanks guys, looks like it should swip then, I'll get the dealer to look into this on Saturday when it's serviced. When I bought the car I purchased an additional 2 years warranty to take me up to August 2006!!!.

My 2000 does not autowipe and i'm glad.
Sometimes I squirt the (rain-x) washer fluid and wait for it to ride up the window and spread out by the wind before I wipe. I like it that way.
Just bump up for a single wipe. All the controls are a finger flick away with the hands at 9 and 3.
