Your Worst Insight MPG

It seems to be strange to open up a thread of the worst milage on an Insight, but keep in mind that for a lot of people it could be great mpg.

My worst ever mpg was on December 15, 2000 when work was closed early so people could go home before the roads iced up. It was not soon enough. I was going 30-40 mph the first 30 minutes. After that, the ice and sleet turned all the roads into a stop-an-go parking lot going at 2-3 mph. The rest of the trip was four hours. Over 30 miles, I got 25 mpg. The defroster prevented autostop from working.

My worst ever one tank milage was 58.9 for 679.6 miles. We had just got the car and had not figured out how to drive it yet. We were using A/C, and driving fast, and went from Phoenix (1000 ft) to Springervill (7000 ft).
Yesterday I filled up in Tucson (2500 ft) and drove home to Phoenix very carefully. My mpg after 94 miles was 109.7. Today I drove to work and back plus lunch all in the rain and now my mpg is 96.8 after 162.2 miles. I was hoping to set a personal record of over 92.1 for a tank, but with winter gas, colder weather, and new tires, it will be pretty hard.
Still trying; Louis
