Ok so my ec decided to give me her insight.Its got issues.220k miles ima light on for the battery deterioration issue.But now the battery light comes on and it discharges.If i cycle the ignition the light goes out and it charges for a bit.I think i read this is a dc-dc built in saftey factor. Im a honda tech here in cali, but not fluent with insights.I wanna get this car going so i can let my element rest a little i do alot of commuting.So to the point. Can i bypass the ima to get it charging the aux battery , and if so do i just unplug the mca to run it on gas.Or do i diconnect the mci module? I wanna build a new main pack for the car but i need to 1st make sure it doesnt have a boat load of issues.Ohh and the aux 12 battery is bad ill replace it tonight.

If the battery is bad but not completely doa (i.e. does not set codes simply with the ign on/engine running) then the IMA boost/limit device might let you retain the autostart/stop and negate the rpm issue.
You can turn the assist down to nothing with the pots so it basically never assists.
The normal or (a lower level of regen to prevent errors) can be retained to keep it topped up for ima autostart/stop etc.
I'm happy to send a free boost pcb to someone with a suitable battery who wants to build and try it.
