Hi everyone, I wanted to stop by and say hello. I recently bought a 2000 Insight with a broken camshaft and apparently bad IMA battery. My plan is to cage it and run it in 24 Hours of Lemons. I've run a "fast" car there for 5 years but want to go after the grand prize.
Since the IMA battery is dead, I'm debating how useful it would be for my situation. In my current car I spend about 80% of time at full throttle, 10% braking and 10% part throttle. My impression is that I'd deplete the IMA battery in a few laps and it would be along for the ride the rest of the day (9-24 hours). I could recharge during full course cautions but those are unpredictable.
Anyway, happy to be here, I've read a lot in the archives so I may not have a ton of questions, but once my toddler's let me have some time to work on it I'll put up pictures.
