Hi all,

I downloaded an owner's handbook (US-based - couldn't find a UK one). Very useful to a newbie like me!

But it didn't have any help with navigating it, so I made a bookmark index, which means I can find things much more quickly. Is there anywhere I can upload it to, in case it is similarly useful to others?

Best, T.

There are a few places such an index would no doubt be found very useful to be sure. [Users] may add a copy to a newly formed up googledrive spreadsheet index that was adapted from a set of 'deadpool's [insightcentral member's] very useful threads**.

Deadpool's threads contain a host of indexed links to past posts in the forum; with links to other first gen insight related material; the editable spreadsheet format is based upon his original:
** Common Topics/FAQ/DIYs/Info Can be found here-

The new googledrive spreadsheet entry [editing] format to which users new and old are invited to add material:
MODS TECH ISSUES & PROBLEMS TROUBLESHOOTING
requires google registration and logon to enter the new information links into the unprotected blank columns at right of the original data. i.e. fill in columns g,h,i ... n in appropriate rows, or create a new heading if deemed reasonable.

The information entered into the [somewhat] clunky [but easily understandable] googledrive spreadsheet format is intended for display [published] in a much faster, safer, no-login req. HTML web page format of the same name accessible to all seen here:

MODS TECH ISSUES & PROBLEMS TROUBLESHOOTING [html published format] https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1teMQnfk_HDzrV6n2AclAwzjXoivW7PSURNfZW18jdMA/pubhtml

Hopefully this page will find some referential use. The list may be built upon by many users and new entries recorded over time.

There is also a grouping of spreadsheets created from the pdf files available in the repair manual and elsewhere:

OBDII CODES DTC SHEET for 2000-2006 HONDA INSIGHT (ZE1)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bLUyuFXWywH0PIzTXYtT6UprBNkOtjnWh5PFKjDFylA/pubhtml
which may be found useful [see signature line] in searches for insight mechanical related information.

[edit: see the help files in google drive for hints how to add a link. If uncomfortable, just use the html format to view only and ignore the data entry format.]

Hi, I had a quick look at this, but it looks pretty scary! I couldn't easily see how I could edit it, and it was rather jumpy to navigate.

I do have a Google account, where I host the source page of my Classic Citroen documents (see: https://sites.google.com/site/citroenpublicationslist/)
but I haven't gone any deeper than that and I refuse to update the account because I feel I get enough spam already (and I observe that Google is now so commercially driven as to be very tiresome - like anything off-beat asked of maps nowadays insists on sending me to an estate agent or a restaurant 20 miles away from what I'm looking for.

But perhaps I'm just being busy! I'll try and have another heave this evening!

Best, T.

Problem with the Body Repair Manual. When I open it I just get like 100+ pdfs with no titles just some code names like IN2000R01013A. Are we supposed to look through all 100 of these before finding the right section?

Yeah, it's kinda funky...

There's no "index" html file like in the service manual, but the pdf's are linked to each other.

Open IN2000MAINIDX.pdf. That's the main index. Anything in blue on the right is a link to another index pdf doc. Clicking on "replacement" opens IN200003INDEX.pdf for example. The section numbers (ie. 3-12) are clickable links to the sub-section docs.

coded titles

if it works better for some, try this compiled version of the body repair manual

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6EDknyr-8unWUJrTjBGWDlrX0U/view
and use the find command to search for keywords or phrases

fwiw: I changed some of the titles in other sections of the manuals in the google drive [sourced from original zip files] to reflect the subject contained in the concatenated series of numbered documents such as in electronic troubleshooting
i.e. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B6EDknyr-8unZWNkajBpYWpvLU0&usp=sharing

if you open Adobe Reader, and open the index pdf filss in the cryptically titled original version in the google drive file [or presumably the originals on your own desktop], the original files names are linked to hypermarked text in the six indexes.

I hope that is helpful

From Jerry Re: Insight service manuals

Hi 02Insight,

Hope this message finds you well. I have a 1st generation Insight and a few years ago I downloaded service manuals but found that they had no hyperlinks in the Tables of contents and therefor were unusable because the individual sections were coded and gave no indication what they were about and there were hundreds of them.

Do you have any ideas about how I can download them with the hyperlinks intact?

Kind regards,
Jerry
