I've been a member since 2006 and learned so much - thank you all, and I hope this might help one of you.

My car reached 272k miles, a baby in this forum, and one of the things that bugged me was the gradually deteriorating state of the seat fabric.

The covers are no longer available as OEM parts, and I couldn't find anyone who would leather trim them for me.

I live in the UK and it seems that leather trimming is for high end and classics. I did contact several trimmers but either got no reply or sky high.

I looked at S2k seats, but didn't like the fact if fitted the usual way (use one runner, fab an extension for the second) I'd be sitting off centre. I found a post on Prelude forums about taking seats apart and swapping seat pans and therefore runners, and bought some 3rd gen cheap Prelude seats to try, but they were such different construction it just wasn't possible without major fabrication, and I wanted OEM safety levels (and can't weld).

Finally I found Lseat in the States. They did gen1 covers in leather, and at $300 were downright cheap. At this point I'd just like to say I'm not writing this to talk about ethics of leather, or ecological principles - any preaching can have it's own post and invite discussion, rather than hijack this.

I bought the set I wanted, all dark grey with light stitching, but a few weeks later two tone covers turned up. Much thinking and much impatience later I accepted a discount and kept them.

They are great. I used cable/zip ties to replace the hogrings and used wood glue to repair the bolster foam. With the help of a heat gun they've gone on very well, and I'm happy with them. And questions about them or the process please ask away.

Nice job Will.

Have you got a link for the leather seat cover supplier?
