I will upload these to my own webspace as well and provide some simple links when I get back from holiday. I have made them a sticky as well. Thanks to the original uploader. Peter

Edit i've just been looking at a few of these and can see I need to read them all.

The few I have read show that.

1) The current sensors for the battery and motor have a working range of -200 to +200A. My quest for a bit more power may work in the end!

2) The battery detrioration calculations allow a minimum battery capacity of 650mah before a code is set

3) The temp sensors in the battery pack are described in detail with temp/resistance data!

4) They contain data about the construction of the inter BCM/MCM modules serial comms and IMA control that we had to work out the hard way.

To coin a phrase from Mr Spock "Fascinating"

The file host doesn't work with download managers (Down them all) but works with a simple DL.

useful info gleaned so far

I have now discovered some more useful info.

1) The battery current sensor reads -100 to +100A 0A = 2.5v output

2) The MPI Current sensor reads -200 to +200A 0A = 2.5v output

3) The PTC strips do not set a cell overtemp alarm until a cell reaches +90C

4) The battery temp sensors do not set a fault until the overall battery temp reaches +80C

5) The battery fan does not activate until the pack reaches 55C+

I have not had a chance to read it as I am afraid I could put it down, but had a question. Not sure about the i1, but the i2 seems to have a smultispeed blower. It has like a light breeze with the key on, then it revs up to high gear when doing a force regen. Then when in auto stop it seems to have a loweer speed still vs idle.

Did it say when the ima system quits or rests? Is there a temp that can make it stop til it cools down? Also where does the air from the blower go? Does it blow under the body panels of the back or to the outside?

Does anyone else dislike the one file per page format and have the ability to roll them into 7 monoliths?
Which information are you referring to?

Most of the PDF's that I've opened are multipage PDF's. Many also contain links to other PDF's, so if one were to merge many PDF's into one big PDF, those links would be broken. The Service Manual folder contains an HTML file, index.html, that opens in a Web browser presenting a table of contents, each entry of which is a link to one of the PDF's. Clicking on one of these links will display the PDF in one's Web browser assuming that this browser supports displaying PDF's (Safari does).

The "Specs" folder might be ripe for merging lots of single-page PDF's into multipage PDF's. But before doing so, I'd want to insure that no links from other pages point to these Specs pages.

the only sections that have linked PDF's are the "Body Repair Manual' and "Electrical TroubleShooting Manual"

I can break it down here:

- Accesories: 7 Separate PDF's (Not Linked)

- Bulletins: 20 Separate PDF's (Not Linked)
(some specific to insight, some have info about other Hondas as well)

- Service News : 33 Separate PDF's (Not Linked)
(have Insight Info in them, along with other Hondas)

- Electric Troubleshooting Manual: 520 Linked PDF's
(These would be hard to combine, without hours of work, but works fine when you just open 1 PDF and click links as you are going through them. If there is usually a "Index" button on top of each.
Since go back in ADOBE READER, press (ALT+BackArrow)

- Body Repair Manual: 110 Linked PDF's.
(Same as ETM)

- Specs: 70 Separate PDF's in 4 Folders.
Not Linked to anything.

- Advance DTC Troubleshooting: 132 Separate PDF's.
Not Linked to anything. Named as the P Code #, then Blink code#.

- Honda Insight 2000-2006 Service Manual: 62 PDF's and 1 Index.
(Only Index links to the other 62 PDF's. No links within the other PDFs)

Wow!! 90C? 80C and 55C?

I've been trying to avoid getting to even 50C thinking I've done some damage when I'm brought some of these cells to 55C with them out of the car, yet the fan doesn't even kick on until that point.

I don't do stop and go driving enough to where I think I get the pack warm but did kick the fan on once after doing a bunch of hard driving to bring the battery from full to empty and could hear the fan at a stop sign in autostop.

I figured 80C would have been murder after the fact and that it would cut any charge/discharge well before that much heat.

I'm not sure why combining PDF's would be preferable. I suppose it's easier to search one large PDF for certain words using Adobe Reader or Mac OS X Preview, but Mac OS X automatically indexes all words in each PDF file, so I can search for certain words in multiple files in a selected folder and its subfolders without combining files. Windows may have similar capabilities.

Also, by renaming some files appropriately, the file system can be used as a table of contents.

I just noticed that this folder contains both one large combined file, ADVANCE DTC Troubleshooting.pdf, and all the contents of this file as separate files. I'll probably delete ADVANCE DTC Troubleshooting.pdf to remove duplicate info.

I'm mostly interested in the 520 linked pages of the electrical manual.

My .pdf client, Foxit Reader, follows links by opening them in a new window. Maybe I just need a new .pdf client.

The PDF reader included with Mac OS X, Preview, also opens each link in a new page. However, the free Adobe Reader opens each link in the same page but doesn't seem to provide a way to go back to previous pages (maybe I haven't looked hard enough).

I am assuming that this "computer geek" meant that Internet downloads can be dangerous for a computer's software and data if the computer is running Windows (to date, Macs haven't been affected). This is because some downloads can contain computer malware (i.e., nasty computer code). No one who has downloaded the Insight files has complained about malware, so I assume that it's safe.

I have no idea why you have been unable to download the files. Maybe your Internet connection is too slow or was interrupted during your download attempts. There are probably other possible reasons as well. I'd try again.
