Damping and rebound rates compared to stock? Spring rates compared to stock? (ride is pretty stiff now with 50 psi).
How much height adjustability? I woud love to lower the car about an inch, should also help with better aero.

Regards,
Jerry

im sure they will offer different spring rate like they do with all their kits so you should be able to choose what rates you would want based on your needs, not sure on the damping rebound rates yet since it is still in development but ill let you know as soon as i find out!

Still no updates on this K-Sport kit?

I should be getting my hands on some custom made Koni's shocks in the next few weeks, i'll post up pics once I pay for them and receive them in the mail.

The ksport kit is nonexistent, talked to a rep and they discontinued it. Just ordered my ground control kit and asked the rep how many they've sold and so far a grand total of three. Anyhow, should have them next week and my new wheels/ tires as well so I'm looking forward to having one of the only slammed insights out there.

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm not a suspension guy. What advantages does this Ground Control kit offer?

Ability to adjust the ride height of the car, and slightly stiffer springs instead of the mushy Honda oem. Mostly a cosmetic upgrade but there are probably aero advantages to lowering the car. I'm looking forward to having a more responsive ride as well, won't have to slow down for corners anymore, that should preserve momentum and equal greater mpgs as well ;).

So you would be able to adjust the ride height both above and below stock? Hmm.. Cool.

It would be pretty cool to lower it the maximum you could while cruising on the highway, and raise the height when you're say, camping.

Yes, I've taken my Insight off roading.. in a sense. Not really recommended....

442k? Wow, i thought mine was getting up there at ~303k. heh.

Im interested in where this goes, but without spring rate numbers and price point being in the same spot it's all pretty vague info. And that doesnt even mention the problem of how to quantify the difference in the dampers.

Keep it updated, though. :)

Any updates, pics, etc?

No word yet...

Any updates, pics, etc?
Currently I have not received word on the new GC kits. I emailed them 2 weeks ago regarding them and have not gotten a response back yet. Apparently they were having some shortage issues on the parts for our Insight kits.

I did not purchase the custom Koni shocks due to some funding issues and I regret it. They were put up for sale here on this site and were sold in 1 day.

I still plan on getting the new GC sleeve coilover kit once all the parts have been manufactured.

I just got off the phone w/Trevor at Ground Control. He says the Insight kit is still in the works. They're waiting to release it until they get the instructions, etc. sorted out but it's definitely still happening.

It sounds like they could use a bit more time with an Insight in their shop to look at other suspension aspects like damping. Anyone in the Sacramento area willing to help out?

Joel

Really?

Funny thing, I called GC and they told me the same thing months ago. I am going to school in Lemoore Ca. which is about 2 or 3 hours away from Sacramento.

Joel, do you happen to know how long they will need the car? I can't leave it there since it is my only form of transportation away from San Diego.

Good news!

I just talked to Trevor at Ground Control again and he said they need an Insight in their shop again to finalize some measurements & instructions for the rear of the car.

If you have a 1st gen Insight and are willing to bring it to the Ground Control guys in Sacramento & let them spend 3 hours or so w/the car, they'll install a free coil-over conversion on your car.

If only I lived in CA :)

PM me if you're interested, I'll put you in touch w/Trevor.

Joel

Holy crap!

/starts driving to Sacramento

lol..That's a great deal. Wish I was closer!

Damn, wish I was closer to. I live in Colorado and that's way too long a drive for me.
Plus, I've read that a company called Swift is developing springs for the Insight as well.

Is this coil-over kit more than just springs? I'm familiar with most suspension systems, but not entirely sure about coil-overs. Is this a complete kit for the 1st gen Insight? I wish to lower mine a tad for better cornering.
