Yeah, I'm not sure why it happens that gen3insight.com is so much more attractive to gen3 owners than insightcentral.com . It seems that it is really only a name differentiation. Is there more?

This site has been welcoming, near as I can see. We certainly have a larger number of genuine hybrid "experts" than a new site will have. The site owners have even made the concession of putting a gen3 picture as the only picture on forum header.

Maybe it has to do with the two cultures. Much of the culture here is focused on modding of the gen1, and on finding low cost alternatives to maintenance. Neither of these seem to be major factors with the gen 3 - most of the cars are under warranty, and it is not an attractive modding platform beyond the cosmetic touches.

Don't know - just musing about it:)

Agreed that looks a much better site for G3 owners..

It's weird that it's an 'Autoforums' forum like this one? Why did they do that I wonder?

They may as well do that for G2 owners as well, so we all have seperate forums.

There is minimal crossover technical info.

Both sites are owned and operated by the same company.
All the "Good stuff" from eons ago has been deleted.
And time marches on.

^ +1. Yeah, I just spent some time over there and it looks to be very well designed forum and very friendly to Gen3 owners.

The Gen3 is a very nice car. I once considered one myself, but I have a perfectly good 2013 Civic Hybrid with a "modern" Lithium battery, so the fundamentals are similar. The Gen3 body line are very, very nice. Not the kinda clunky and dated look of my 2013. I might still spring for one, but own to many cars - mostly gen1s, and I'm very interested in the frontier spirit of the gen1. As I'm sure you have noticed, many gen1 owners are genuine engineering nerds, and the car is a perfect platform. (But, one thing for sure - the gen1 doesn't make a very good family car, even for two.)

Peter:
Where is the encylopedia, the facts etc. for the G1. That was a world of information and could be used to explain most all of the G1 engineering etc.
