I recently purchased a 2003 Insight. The interior lighting is very weak and underwhelming. So I decided to change that. I first removed the old bulbs, then found some foil-like tape and coated the front dome light pockets with it. This (in theory) should allow the light to reflect back down on to the interior more. I purchased some cheap LED lights to replace the old incandescents. I popped the new lights in and moved onto the rear cargo light. I also purchased an LED light for this. I simply popped the new one in and closed it up. The new bulbs and reflective tape made a HUGE difference. I can see EVERYTHING now! If you still have the original lights inside your G1 Insight, you should really consider this cheap (<$20) upgrade. I am also going to be replacing the incandescent head and tail lights with more powerful LEDs in the near future, so stay on the lookout!
