The right side fits too but there is an unprotected area. But when I had the seats out, I treated my carpets with http://www.neverwet.com

Do the aveo Springs fit without modification is it only stock Springs or aftermarket as well? Is it both front and back?

From reports it looks like Aveo springs are a drop in replacement but they will raise the rear by about an inch. You can cut 1/2 coil from the spring to maintain stock height.
Unsure about aftermarket or front fitments.

The only drop in that I know of were Dawoo Matiz for the rear.

Prior to me having springs manufactured I did hours & hours of research. I ordered new Aveo springs from GM and went to full service wrecking yards and watched them pull the springs from an Aveo. They were not even close. That is when I decide to send out a set of Matiz springs and have them copied.

I don't know of any front springs at this time. However, on Monday I met with the manufacturer that makes the rears for me and we discussed and designed a new front that is a drop in 30% more spring rate that does not change the front ride height. They gave me a quote to do a 12 piece prototype run yesterday and they are now ordered. We should know something in about 4 weeks when I receive them.

Seems like i saw cross reference info a while back for aftermarket air and oil filters and the larger honda filter that fits our gen 1 insight. Also does anyone have recommendations for aftermarket sparkplugs? Any ideas and suggestions appreciated. jim

1. Why put in a different filter when the engine will go 500,000 miles using the one designed by the Honda engineers?

2. No aftermarket spark plugs unless you buy an index kit and go through the index process yourself. Plugs are only changed every 100,000 miles, so no big deal. Just do it right.

Exhaust pipe gasket: Honda part number 18229-S3Y-J01
Larry D reports it "sells for $18.13 at Majestic. The part I found that fits costs $4.68 at Rock Auto.com. The part is from a 1983 Jeep CJ5 with the 2.5L 4 cylinder engine. FelPro part number 60592."
Thanks Larry!

2001 - 2003 Acura CL Clock Spring
This has the same screw hole pattern as the Insight clock spring but it has 7 wires coming through it (Insight has 3 used, plus 3 extra) so you can add buttons to your steering wheel. Same SRS wiring harness too by the looks of it.

Also, a link to this thread should be listed in the Common Topics sticky thread in this forum.
