What: Antenna Whip
For: 2000-2006 Honda Insight
Donor Car: 2006-2011 Hyundai Accent & Kia Rio
Modification required: None, but you could consider trimming the rubber that extends passed the stud.
Why: Shorter and nicer than the OEM longer whip
How: Just screw it on. Takes a bit of pressure due to the extended rubber that gets stretched out.

I had problems with an Accord EGR valve because the opening was too small. I got P1941 for it. I wanted to post here that someone else suggested a different EGR valve:

Dorman 911-756

It's meant for the Honda Odyssey, but is exactly the same and has the larger rectangular passage that the Insight EGR has. The Dorman valve worked for me -- no more CEL.

It just unscrews from the base. You might need to get some pliers on it, but mine simply unscrewed.
Thanks, mine is literally falling apart, it's a spring with a metal rod. All of the plastic has crumbled off, looks like I need to grab some pliers and replace it soon. Also gotta find the rubber grommet that goes around the bottom, thats been baked in the sun for far too long.

I like the shorter assembly, I have already replaced the mast on my wife's car with a factory mast from Sterling McCall (G1parts) for 24 bucks or I'd do this.

Before you do anything rash... Before I bought a replacement, I took some black heat shrink tube, y鈥檏now, for wires, and put several layers on the doggone thing. It wasn鈥檛 perfect, but it looked ok for 5 feet away. You can do it in place, too. No need to remove it.
