I have a question about the manual transmission countershaft nut thread. Is it what I consider normal right hand thread or left hand thread?
I am going to do the second gear synchronizer modification, but when I put the countershaft assembly in my friend's bench vise, I had a terrible time trying to remove the nut (about 1-1/8"). Is it always that difficult to break loose, or am I just being too tentative with it? I am using wood blocks to protect the gear, and the wood block is just scooting out of the vise when I try to turn the nut, which is taking a fair amount of force before the wood block moves.
Just want to make sure so that I don't break a valuable part.
Thanks,
Tim Glover
